The most aggressive NTDD map for the HDJ100 1HD-FTE. Piggyback ECU for fully built, high-boost setups. Tested by MWR4x4. EMUMAP is mandatory to prevent ECU protection/limp mode.
The NTDD Powerchip STEP 5 is the top-level, extreme software version of the NTDD piggyback system for the Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ100 1HD-FTE.
Like all NTDD units, STEP 5:
Sits between the engine and the factory ECU (piggyback)
Does not reflash or physically modify the OEM ECU
Adjusts fueling and related parameters to deliver major gains in power, torque, and response when matched with the right hardware.
Software 5 is strictly for competition or very demanding builds: high boost, big turbo, serious cooling, free-flow exhaust, and proper monitoring. With suitable hardware, setups in this range are typically targeting well above 250 hp and big torque, but exact numbers depend entirely on the build, tune, and engine condition.
Because STEP 5 significantly increases injection (and therefore boost), the HDJ100 ECU’s ~1.0 bar MAP limit will be exceeded, which will trigger protection or jerking at high RPM if not addressed. For this reason, an appropriate MAP sensor emulator (EMUMAP) is required.
Installation
Professional installation is essential at this level.
Most aggressive NTDD software for the 1HD-FTE (STEP 5)
Designed and tested by MWR4x4 for high-power HDJ100 builds
Requires MAP emulator (EMUMAP) to avoid limp mode at high boost
SPECS
OEM HDJ100 ECU typically protects above ~1.0 bar MAP
STEP 5 must be used with a MAP sensor emulator (EMUMAP) or equivalent to prevent fault codes, “flabby mode” or limp at high revs
Manufacturer notes over 250 hp potential and strong torque increase with suitable hardware; no single fixed number is guaranteed (depends entirely on turbo, intercooler, exhaust, fueling, and engine health).
