Race-oriented NTDD calibration for heavily modified HDJ100 1HD-FTE builds. Designed for high boost, big turbo, and full supporting mods. Requires proper setup and a MAP emulator (EMUMAP) to prevent ECU protection.
The NTDD Powerchip STEP 4 is a high-aggression piggyback map for the Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ100 1HD-FTE, developed for vehicles that want to extract near-maximum performance from the 4.2L engine.
Like all NTDD Powerchip units, STEP 4:
Works as a piggyback between the engine and the OEM ECU
Does not rewrite or physically modify the original ECU
Optimizes injection control using multiple maps (NTDD systems support a wide map set) for power-focused setups within hardware limits
Software 4 is not for stock trucks. It is intended for competition / very demanding builds with upgraded turbo, cooling, exhaust, and careful monitoring. Due to the increased injection and boost, the HDJ100 ECU will hit its protection limit (~1.0 bar MAP) unless you use an appropriate MAP sensor emulator (EMUMAP).
Intended for users who want to get “the most out of it” while understanding the limits of the OEM ECU and drivetrain
Requires proper hardware (turbo, intercooler, exhaust, fueling) and monitoring
Recommended only for: High-boost applications (above stock; typically >1.0 bar) Hybrid / upgraded turbos or full turbo kits Large front-mount or high-efficiency intercooler 3" free-flow exhaust system Clean intake, healthy injectors, correct valve clearances Builds aimed at competition / extreme off-road / heavily loaded performance
SPECS
Type: Digital piggyback ECU (NTDD Powerchip)
EMUMAP units can be fixed or adjustable range; both are compatible when set up correctly
No fixed public number given by manufacturer for STEP 4; actual output depends on turbo size, intercooler efficiency, exhaust, fuel system, and overall engine health
