More aggressive NTDD calibration for HDJ100 1HD-FTE with upgraded turbo/boost. Piggyback module that works with the factory ECU to increase power and torque while optimizing fuel delivery—no permanent changes to the OEM ECU.
The NTDD Powerchip STEP 2 is a piggyback ECU for the Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ100 1HD-FTE designed for vehicles running higher turbo pressure (≈1.0 bar or above) and basic performance upgrades (exhaust, intercooler, etc.).
Like all NTDD units, STEP 2:
Installs between the engine sensors/injectors and the factory ECU
Does not overwrite or open the OEM ECU
Optimizes fueling and engine parameters to increase horsepower, torque, and efficiency
Compared with STEP 1, STEP 2 runs a more aggressive map set aimed at builds with extra boost and hardware, with an approximate gain of up to +55 hp when correctly set up on a healthy engine.
Important: On the HDJ100, the stock ECU typically starts protection above ~1.0 bar. For setups pushing beyond this, a MAP sensor emulator (EMUMAP) is recommended to avoid limp mode or surging at high RPM.
STEP 2 software by MWR4x4 & NTDD: for vehicles with increased turbo pressure (>1.0 bar)
Approx. +55 hp potential on suitable setups (tuned 1HD-FTE with supporting mods)
Improved torque and drivability for loaded, towing, and off-road use Potential fuel consumption optimisation under comparable driving conditions Developed and tested specifically for the Toyota HDJ100 4.2L 1HD-FTE
SPECS
Years: approx. 1998–2008 (100 Series with 204 hp 1HD-FTE)
The factory ECU can trigger protection if MAP exceeds its limit
For higher-pressure builds, pair with EMUMAP / MAP emulator (sold separately) to avoid limp mode.
