This 3rd-generation hybrid VNT (variable-geometry) turbo is built for Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ80 / HDJ100 applications running the 4.2-liter diesel family (1HDT / 1HDFT / 1HDFTE). It uses a mechanical (non-electronic) actuator to control vane position, so there’s no ECU/ECM integration required—ideal for swaps, simple builds, and reliability in harsh environments.

The upgraded flow path and hybrid wheel/geometry package provide ~30% more flow at low RPM (per your spec), improving spool, drivability, and pulling power without sacrificing top-end performance when tuned correctly.

Note: As with any VNT conversion/upgrade, ensure supporting hardware (intercooler, intake piping, downpipe, boost control) and a conservative tune to maintain safe EGTs.
