MWR4x4’s 2nd-generation hybrid VNT (VGT) “Big-Neck” turbo delivers faster spool and higher flow for Toyota’s 4.2-liter diesels. With a vacuum actuator and reinforced core, it’s built for responsive low-rpm torque and sustained boost under load. On a healthy 1HD-FTE with a custom-tuned injection pump, oversized intercooler, and free-flow exhaust, customers typically report ~760 Nm and >290 hp, with ≈1.0 bar reached by ~1900 rpm when properly tuned. For HDJ80 and HDJ100 originally non-VNT, an adaptation kit (oil/water lines & related hardware) is required. Optional versions offer a larger exhaust outlet and a red anodized MFS aluminum snail.
